The date of Shrove Tuesday is always determined by when Easter falls, ie Shrove starts 47 days before this greatest Christian holiday. Easter will be on April 9, so Lent in 2023 will be on February 21. The date of Easter is determined according to the first spring full moon, ie Easter is always the first Sunday after the first spring full moon.
Carnival 2023: what will happen with curentization?
One of the most characteristic carnival masks in Slovenia are kurents, and kurentovanje in Ptuj is the largest Slovenian carnival. In 2022, due to the epidemic, the carnival passed without this mass event - they held a virtual event. In 2023, the curation should take place from February 11 to 21.
